Pics from DOMAINFest 2010

I wanted to share my experience that I’ve encountered during DomainFest 2010. Over the past 4 years I’ve attended many domain conferences and even attended last years DomainFest and nothing compares to what we have experienced in Santa Monica. There were great sessions and its panel, there was good food, good music, good karma, plenty of booze and lots of great networking.  Exhibitors played a big roll as well. The .co extension handed out condoms that read “.coming soon” and “.contain yourself”, I thought that was hilarious, brought the condoms back home wife is asking why am I traveling with condoms?…oops, (she didn’t find that too funny). I thought that TrafficMedia.com gave a great presentation. Always good to see the Sedo crew and the crew over at Name Media. Thanks to Ted Olson for spending time with me and Morgan explaining the platform. There is so much more that one can learn when its face to face.

Finally met a lot of people that I wanted to meet. Morgan Linton and Bruce Marler just genuine great guys, if everyone can follow their methods then we would all be in a better place. Simonetta from Sedo was just a pleasure to talk to. Got a chance to meet another great guy Tony K, who happens to be from New York, he is also concentrating on Geo development. Always a pleasure to see John Yeomans from WinnerNames.com, who at one point disappeared with some playboy bunny at the mansion. (I wont tell your wife John.).  Always a delight to see Mike Berkens and his wife Judi, Larry Fischer, Lonnie Borck,  and Elliot Silver who hang out with Ron Jeromy and Justin Brescia (aka Justin Bobby) after the Mansion Party. And lets not forget Chef Patrick who seems like he is always having a good time no matter where he’s at.

Below are pictures that summarize the Madness that was happening at DomainFest…..Hope to see you all at the next conference…..

DomainFest 2010 was da Bomb ! — Da Mansion rocked ! – Now that’s what I call a Party !!! – This whole 4 day gig took Domaining to a whole new level… both biz-wise and fun-wise. It’s surely a tough act to follow.
    - Dat cool cat Steve K.. is a party machine and a photographer extraodinaire….and he dazzled all da ladies with his danc’in skills….and also…. well, ya know !
I don’t know who was cuter, da Bunny… or Igal tickeling me. Feeling no pain !

Great pics Steven, too bad I couldn’t make it to US for the DF. Hopefully the rumors are true about the next DF being in europe;)

  3. DomainFest 2010 was awesome! It was great to meet new people plus I got the opportunity to hang with my North East crew. (Boys you know who you are) Good times all around!

    Until next time……..

  4. Steve says:

    Thanks Petros,

You’ll enjoy DF, well pictures said it all. If not DF than Traffic Italy, coming at the end of April.

    See you soon…hopefully

  5. Steve says:

    @John,

It wouldn’t have been the same without you, you were the one to make it all happen.

    Dat was Hot….lol

  6. Steve says:

    Bari Honey,

I have no words for you, you are the bomb!!!!

  7. Tony C says:

    Great pics Steve,
I had a nice time chatting with everyone Monday night. Sorry I had to cut out Tuesday, but just hanging by the bar with everyone made it worth the 6 hour flight.
Slow auction though. Congrats on “OneWayTicket.com”. I was suprised that “Duplicates.com” didn’t sell.

  8. Steve says:

My friend Tony C. – what can I say, I wish you were there to experience it all. Don’t forget it was exactly a year ago that we had met at DomainFest and we have been friends ever since. Duplicates.com was a surprise for me as well, with that low reserve, should of had a bidding war, well there’s still the extended auction, you never know. Oh and thanks for OneWayTicket.com actually hate to part with that domain.

See you Wednesday at Hazens place…..

  9. NetJohn says:

Tony C. …There you go again….masterfully turning a thread into your own personal domain promo — incredible !. … I thought that you told me to make sure nobody in the auction room bid on Duplicates.com …so that’s exactly what I did. Sorry if my hearing was off kilter.

  10. Morgan says:

Great to finally meet you in person Steve! Let me know next time you’re in LA and I’ll do the same when I’m in NYC…of course I’ll have to wait until it gets a little warmer :)

  11. Chef Patrick says:

“And lets not forget Chef Patrick who seems like he is always having a good time no matter where he’s at.”

Oh yea, gotta have fun!!! Shame the video of me dancing didn’t record, everyone would have had a nice laugh with that one.

  12. Bob says:

Steve! Even though I couldn’t stay for the conference – I was SO glad to bump into you and spend a couple of hours with you on Monday night! And I still think that you stole that SnowboardingEquipment.com name at $500! Good thing for you that I was offline when that went down!

  13. With regard to questions 24 & 25: the most important domain name story, I’m hung up on the passing of Verisign’s BTAPPA – Bulk Transfer After Partial Portfolio Aquisition of Dot Coms and Dot Nets, and ICANN is aware of me and answered my snail mail, which is published with permission at my Rant Blog about BTAPPA, linked to, above. Jorge Amodio suggested it’s a thick soup I am brewing, but if I have to go down, first I’m going to make some noise! If you Google BTAPPA, it is searchable at least by Louise’s posts.
Glad everyone had good weather at DomainFest!

  14. Tony C says:

    Steve,
You left out one important detail…
When Elliot got into Ron Jeremy’s car, he noticed it was a Saturn.
Not a very elegant car for a top rated porn star.
Since you and I both drive Mercedes Benz’s, I think Ron is in the wrong industry.
Ron if you are reading this, I’m willing to teach you the Domaining Industry if your willing to teach me the porn industry.
P.S. I have to be careful how I word this post, otherwise John (NetJohn) will think I’m selling my car.

  15. Steve says:

    @ Morgan

I believe pleasure was all mine…please look me up if you are in the NY area I would love to take you a fancy massage parlor, on me…lol.
I hope you tagged some pics from facebook, they are priceless…

    Hope to see you soon

  16. Steve says:

    @ Chef

There was about 10 minutes of recording that just went blank, I wanted to throw the video camera against the wall when I realized that it erased it all, there was some good footage there.
And sorry to hear about that shirt, actually wanted to buy it from you…..
I see you tagged some nice pics from facebook…enjoy

    See u soon

  17. Steve says:

    @ Bob

Great to see you to, I remember you said just 10 more minutes and that lasted for hours, Alan Hack put on a good show. And for a moment there I didn’t recognize you without your mustache.

Hope to see you in April at the Geo conference in New Orleans, I’ll be there for sure.

  18. chandan says:

    damn :(

    too sexy domainers :p

  19. Andrew says:

    Steve,

Next year I’m definately coming with you. Can’t believe I missed this one, but I just had too much on my plate and been doing too much traveling.

You gotta make it down to Panama soon!

    Andrew

  20. Steve says:

    @ Andy

Ye you missed a good one, also think about Geo conference in New Orleans at end of April, definitely going to that one. But if not than perhaps we catch up at the next DF conference.

Panama – is no my to do list, I really want to build out my PuntaPacifica.com
Tony C. and I are looking for a good platform to put all our geo domains on, that’s another reason why we need to go to Associated Cities conference.

    Hope to see u soon
